Iron Tide Command
Iron Tide Command drops you into command of a stretch of coastline you can never quite hold comfortably. It's a real-time strategy game where every unit costs more than you'd like and reinforcements are always a few seconds too late. That scarcity is the whole point, and it makes each decision feel weighty.
The touch interface is well thought out. Dragging selection boxes and issuing orders works cleanly even mid-battle, and you can slow time to a crawl to plan a defense. We appreciated that the tutorial teaches through actual missions instead of walls of text.
Maps get genuinely clever later on, forcing you to split attention across two fronts. It demands focus, so it's more of a sit-down-and-concentrate game than a casual tapper, but the payoff when a defense holds is fantastic.
